This is the history of TOM’S Co., Ltd from its founding on 20th February, 1974, to the present day.
TOM’S Co. was founded in 1974 by two great individuals, a Toyota factory driver named Nobuhide Tachi and a Toyota dealership engineer, Kiyoshi Oiwa.Overcoming tremendous hardships such as the oil recession era, the entrepreneurs put all their efforts into motorization, becoming one of the most prominent corporations in motorsport history. The company’s capital was 2,000,000 Yen.

1975 Acquired approval to become a tuning entity for Toyota.
1977
Overall champions of Malaysian Grand Prix.
1978 A garage is opened in Nishitamagun, Tokyo.
TOM’S first ever original wheel named the Igeta Wheel TOM’S Rally was developed.
1750cc kit for the 2TG engine was developed.The development of the 2.0 liter kit soon followed.
1982 Capital reaches 10,000,000 Yen.
First ever Group C machine (TOM’S Celica C) takes 5th overall in WEC.
1983 Establishes a new operation in Setagaya, Tokyo for expansion.
The racing garage relocates to Gotemba, Shizuoka.
First ever entry in the 24 Hour Le Mans race.
Registered as Toyota Team TOM’S as the official manufacturer team for Toyota.
Release of their line of complete vehicles, the C5 Soarer and the C5 Supra.
TOM’S GB division enters the WSPC.
1991 Capital increases to 50,000,000 Yen.
1992 Takes 2nd place in the 24 Hour Le Mans race.
Takes Championship in F3 Macao GP. (TOM’S 032F)
As a dealer option, Toyota Motor Corporation releases the Tom’s original aluminum wheel line for the Celica and Levin.
1994 2 time champions of the Japan Touring Car Championship. (Corona)
2 consecutive and 3 time series champions of the Japan Formula 3 Championship.
The development of the lightweight complete vehicles, T101, T082, and T020.
TOM’S products are officially made available at Toyota dealerships nationwide.
The Advox suspension system is released.
